The Flood Impacts, Carbon Pricing, and Ecosystem Sustainability (FINCAPES) Project is inviting proposals from qualified individuals or agencies for the production of a series of short videos focused on flood risks in Pontianak City, Indonesia. These videos will serve as key communication tools to disseminate study result to raise awareness, facilitate decision-making, and advocate for flood resilience measures.
Pontianak is increasingly vulnerable to climate-induced flooding, with threats from coastal (Rob), pluvial (rainfall), and fluvial (river) floods. The Flood Risk Modelling Study in Pontianak, conducted under FINCAPES in 2024, has provided critical insights into the city's flood hazards. To ensure that these findings reach policymakers, businesses, and communities, a compelling series of short videos will be developed to translate complex data into accessible narratives.
The selected contractor will be responsible for:
- Concept Development: Refining key messages, identifying resource persons for interviews, and developing a storyboard.
- Production Process: Conducting onsite filming in Pontianak, capturing high-quality footage and interviews.
- Post-Production: Editing, sound design, and mastering three 3-5 minute videos.
1. Understanding Flood Risks in Pontianak: Overview of the city's flood profile, key causes, and visual representation of high-risk areas.
2. The Future of Flooding in Pontianak: Climate projections, economic and social impacts, and community testimonies.
3. Solutions and Best Practices: Recommendations from the Flood Risk Modelling Study and showcase of local resilience strategies (stories from communities).
