Our Collaborators and Allies!

Institut Pertanian Bogr (IPB) University

IPB University is a key national partner in the FINCAPES Project, contributing long-standing expertise in peatland, mangrove, and tropical forest research through its Faculty of Forestry and Environment. This partnership supports Indonesia’s climate adaptation and mitigation efforts by reducing disaster risks and advancing socially and economically sustainable biodiversity conservation. Under FINCAPES, IPB University leads the establishment and operation of the IPB Centre for Applied Research in Nature-based Solutions (I-CAN), an applied research hub focused on developing, testing, and scaling gender-equitable Nature-based Solutions (NbS) through applied research, knowledge mobilization, and capacity building. Working with governments, NGOs, CSOs, and local communities, IPB University and I-CAN implement NbS initiatives across multiple provinces, including mangrove restoration in Lampung and Jambi and peatland restoration in Jambi, using these sites as living laboratories that link science, field practice, community engagement, and policy learning.

Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC)

The Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center is a principal partner in the FINCAPES Project, supporting multi-stakeholder research, analysis, and policy dialogue on climate finance to advance Indonesia’s energy transition. This partnership strengthens evidence-based climate finance policies by bridging government, academia, industry, and civil society perspectives. Key areas of collaboration include the establishment of RECLICKS (Research on Climate Change and Knowledge Sharing) as a center of excellence, the development of a climate finance policy think tank, and support for demand-driven climate finance research and dialogue. The partnership also advances financing strategies for priority sectors, including geothermal energy, carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), grid modernization to support renewable energy, and decarbonization of energy-intensive industries. Through seminars, conferences, short courses, study visits, and sustained engagement with policymakers and industry leaders, this collaboration aims to catalyze concrete government and private sector action on climate finance and accelerate Indonesia’s low-carbon energy transition.
