The FINCAPES project is a 5.5-year initiative in Indonesia funded by the Government of Canada, aimed at addressing climate change, flood risks, and biodiversity conservation. It involves partnerships between the University of Waterloo and Indonesian universities and focuses on three key components:
Building capacity to adapt to and mitigate financial impacts of flood risks.
Promoting nature-based solutions for peatland and mangrove restoration, gender-equity, and biodiversity conservation.
Strengthening national-level governance for climate change through gender-responsive research and climate finance policies.
