Integrating Gender Equality and Socio-Economic Inclusion into Flood Risk Models and Analysis

This report, "Integrating Gender Equality and Socio-Economic Inclusion into Flood Risk Models and Analysis," explores the critical need to incorporate Gender Equality and Socio-Economic Inclusion (GESEI) into flood risk modeling. Developed as part of the FINCAPES project, the report highlights the disproportionate impact of flooding on women and marginalized groups. It examines the economic, physical, and social challenges faced by these groups, including increased gender-based violence, health risks, and economic vulnerabilities. The report also addresses the gender bias in recovery initiatives and the importance of including diverse perspectives in flood prevention and response strategies. By integrating GESEI considerations, the report aims to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of flood risk models, ultimately contributing to more resilient and equitable communities.
