This booklet, developed under the FINCAPES project, serves as a practical and easy-to-understand guide to help communities better understand the importance of Gender Equality and Social Economy Inclusion (GESI) in everyday life and in peatland restoration efforts. Using simple language and relatable examples, the booklet explains what gender is, why gender equality matters, and how unequal roles and responsibilities can impact both women and men. It highlights common gender issues—such as double burdens, marginalization, and stereotypes—and offers tools like effective communication to help overcome them. Designed especially for use in local training and awareness sessions, this resource empowers communities to work together more fairly, share responsibilities at home and in society, and build stronger, more harmonious environments for all.
